THE Main Committee of Hygienic Issues in the Belait District held an integrated cleaning campaign for the first time in selected areas of Belait District, namely Cendera Kenangan Recreational Park and the area along Tudung Saji market.
Present at the cleaning campaign was Haji Haris bin Othman, Belait District Officer.
According to a press release, several government agencies, owners of business premises and buildings, private employees, and residents of the areas near Jalan Maharaja Anakda, Jalan Bendahari, Jalan Puteri Brunei, and Jalan Maharaja Lela, participated in the campaign.
Members of the Village and Mukim Consultative Councils and NGO associations in Belait were also present during the event.
This integrated cleaning campaign will be held continuously for the whole of 2015, where it will be extended to other zones and areas identified as either outside or within the range of the city, including areas in Mukims, villages, longhouses, the areas along the markets, business premises, housing areas and roadsides.
The campaign is held with hopes that the public will take into account the importance of maintaining Belait District’s cleanliness at all times and to ensure the district is safe from mosquito infestations.
