IN A bid to raise public awareness and prompt more interest in the ongoing CIPTA 2015 competition, a roadshow was held at Dewan Kenangan in the Tutong District yesterday.
The roadshow, which attracted dozens of people during its commencement yesterday, also saw the attendance of Tutong District Officer, Awang Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali; Mukim Keriam’s Penghulu cum Legislative Council member, YB Orang Kaya Jaya Putera Dato Paduka Haji Muhd Taha bin Abd Rauf; Penghulus and village heads from across the district; school teachers as well as students.
Chairperson of CIPTA 2015, Hj Adi Syamim bin Haji Md Taib, in his capacity as the Information and Publicity committee member, delivered a presentation centred on the importance of nurturing creativity in innovation, and both its relevance in the CIPTA 2015.
This was later supported by a presentation by Siti Mazulianawati binti Haji Abd Majid from the CIPTA 2015 Technical committee, highlighting the competition’s categories, rules and regulations, prizes and awards significant dates, judging process, and samples of projects which went into submission in previous CIPTA competitions.
This year, CIPTA will have three local categories: Category 1 – Creating New Product, Process or Technology; Category 2 – Modifying Existing Product, Process or Technology, and; Category 3 – Creating New or Modifying Existing Product, Process or Technology by Young Inventors.
Meanwhile, the Smart Junior Competition has been introduced to CIPTA 2015 which is open to lower secondary school students (Year 7 – 9), with the intent to promote creativity and innovation among the younger generations.
