ENHANCING bilateral defence relations and sharing views on issues of mutual concerns with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) were the highlights of the annual military exchange visit by the China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to Brunei Darussalam.
The high-level delegation visit, hosted by the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), comprised eight military members led by Major General Xiao Yunhong, Commander of Guangxi Military Area, Guangzhou Military Command, PLA.
Major General Xiao Yunhong paid a courtesy call on the Commander of RBN, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, at the RBN Headquarters yesterday.
During the call, the PLA delegation was presented with an overview of the RBN’s organisational structure, roles and functions, followed by a roundtable discussion between both sides. The PLA delegation also boarded the KDB Darulehsan for a tour.
The PLA delegation arrived on November 30 for a two-day official visit. They also had the opportunity to visit places of interest in the Sultanate during their stay.
