ZHENG Xianglin, the outgoing Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam yesterday called on Beijing Tong Ren Tang (B) Sdn Bhd, the Brunei branch of the largest producer of traditional Chinese medicine in the world, to further build and improve its presence in the local market as well as the Chinese community.
The outgoing Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam was speaking at a special talk organised by Beijing Tong Ren Tang (B) Sdn Bhd at Chung Hwa Middle School (CHMS), BSB on Chinese herbal medicine delivered by specially invited speaker Miss Li Zhi.
In his remarks, the Chinese Ambassador said, “I have been in Brunei for three years and is happy to see the changes that are happening in Beijing Tong Ren Tang this year. A new General Manager (Miss Guo Kai Yu) has arrived a month ago to take charge of the branch here along with two new doctors – Yang Jun Zhi and Liu Hong Wei.
“The presence of Beijing Tong Ren Tang (B) Sdn Bhd can be further established in Brunei as it is a well-known producer of traditional Chinese medicine that has more than 300 years of history.
“It’s also one of the significant and successful business collaborations between Brunei and China. Besides business, we have the responsibility to provide the service of traditional Chinese medicine to the people here to gain the trust of the reputation of Beijing Tong Ren Tang (B) Sdn Bhd,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ang Swee Chuan in his speech recalled the hard work and long period of dialogues with Beijing Tong Ren Tang in China in order to open its branch in Brunei. It is also the first overseas branch for Beijing Tong Ren Tang. Present at the talk which emphasised on heart disease were prominent figures in the local Chinese community.
