A CHINESE contingent of 35 soldiers arrived at the Rimba Air Base yesterday to participate in the Brunei International Skill at Arms Meet (BISAM 11) hosted by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) for participants to display their prowess and showcase the capabilities of the armed forces.
Some 600 servicemen representing 18 contingents from 16 countries are scheduled to compete in the event.
Commander of the Chinese contingent, Senior Colonel Yu Kuangming, said, “We have been invited to this event to learn the best theories and practice of other countries. I believe this competition will also serve as a platform for us to show the best part of the PLA (People’s Liberation Army).”
The 22 officers will compete with their counterparts in 12 matches or 37 practices at the end of the month.
