THE Ministry of Defence yesterday received an introductory visit from Chief of Defence of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, General Worapong Sanganetra.
The visit took place at the Bolkiah Garrison.
Upon arrival, General Worapong Sanganetra was accorded a guard of honour mounted by personnel of the Second Battalion of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF).
He then paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Minister of Defence, Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat.
Also present during the courtesy call were the Defence Executive Committee, directors and senior officers at the Ministry of Defence.
Later, General Worapong Sanganetra made a separate courtesy call to the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah.
Present at the visit were RBAF Acting Deputy Commander, Services Commanders, directors and RBAF senior officers.
The visit aimed to continue the long-established bilateral relations and further explore areas of military cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Thailand.
General Worapong Sanganetra together with his spouse, Wichuda Sanganetra, as well as their delegations were in the country for a two-day introductory visit.
