FOLLOWING a locally made video of a man burning an Anchor Processed Cheddar Cheese that went viral on social media that allegedly implies that the product is not safe for consumption, Sam Ying Kok, the Director of Maju LSK Logistics and Foodfare Sdn Bhd, its main distributor in Brunei, in a press conference yesterday issued a statement to reassure the public otherwise.
He revealed that the company has indeed received a number of inquiries regarding the video, which has shaken consumers’ confidence in Anchor Processed Cheddar Cheese.
Fonterra brands (M) Sdn Bhd has also issued a letter showing that the cheese is packed and produced in compliance with a number of standards, such as the CODEX Alimentarius International Standards, Malaysia Food Act 1983 (Act 2981) and Regulations as well as the Fonterra Food Safety and Quality System, proving that the product is safe and fit for human consumption.
In a proactive step to prove that their products are safe, it was also revealed that Maju LSK Logistics and Foodfare Sdn Bhd will be carrying out independent laboratory tests in Malaysia or Singapore.
