THIRTY-THREE youth representing youth clubs across the nation successfully completed the outdoor recreation course.
The closing ceremony was held yesterday at Youth Centre, Bandar Seri Begawan.
The four-day course which began on October 20 aimed to provide knowledge as well as guidance to the participants in outdoor recreational activities.
The course also aimed to encourage the participants to be actively involved in adventurous and challenging sports activities.
The course provided useful approaches needed in order to improve leadership skills and discipline. Moreover, the course served as a platform for the participants to test their mental and physical endurance aside from fostering the spirit of cooperation, unity and tolerance among their peers.
At the closing ceremony, Muhd Amirul Syazmie bin Ibrahim, one of the participants and an officer from the Youth and Sports Department, thanked all the facilitators as well as their trainers for the information, knowledge and skills they imparted during the course.
He added that all the experience and skills which they gained will help them increase their capabilities in planning or conducting outdoor recreational activities in the future.
Presenting the certificates of participation yesterday was Awang Haji Muhd Nurul Azrin bin Haji Gani, Training Officer at the Youth and Sports Department.
Among the activities held during the course were camping, jungle trekking, orienteering, abseiling, kayaking and wilderness survival skill.
