CHUNG Ching Middle School’s (CCMS) kindergarten organised a Book Character Fashion Show and a Merit Award presentation on October 18.
The Book Character Fashion Show, one of the important English language activities, is one of the school’s major events of 2014. Each class was given a theme and the pupils were dressed up in different characters.
Head of kindergarten, speaking at the event, said that the objective of the event was to increase students’ confidence and self-esteem.
The aim was also to introduce a different book character to the students, thus making their reading experience more joyful. She also mentioned that Jolly Phonics had been incorporated into K2 and K3 curriculum since January and there is a plan to introduce Jolly Grammar in 2015 as a continuation of Jolly Phonics.
The fashion show was followed by the Merit Awards presentation. Since January, numerous activities have been organised by the language teachers, and this presentation was held to appreciate the winners. The event ended with the prize presentation for the best costume in the Book Character Fashion Show.
