CARRIE Underwood was in tears as she paid tribute to the Las Vegas shooting victims at the Country Music Awards.
The 34-year-old star got emotional as she performed song ‘Softly and Tenderly’ at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday during the In Memoriam segment, which honoured victims from the event and country stars who had passed away recently, including Glen Campbell.
The Vegas shooting hit the headlines worldwide when a gunman opened fire at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, killing at least 58 and injuring more than 500.
At the beginning of the CMAs ceremony, co-hosts Carrie and Brad Paisley – who were co-presenting the spectacle for the 10th time – paid tribute to the Vegas victims, as well as those affected by other attacks and disasters this year, such as the mass shooting at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, earlier this month. – BANG!
