PHNOM PENH (Xinhua) – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen’s just-concluded visit to China’s Nanning city for the 11th Asean-China Expo is a “success”, contributing to further enhancing Cambodia’s ties with China and Asean, a senior official said Tuesday.
“The prime minister’s visit to Nanning is a success in terms of politics and economics,” Kao Kim Hourn, minister attached to Prime Minister Hun Sen, told reporters at Phnom Penh International Airport upon Hun Sen’s return from Nanning.
He said China has highly valued the presence of Hun Sen at the expo.
“The expo was a good opportunity for Prime Minister Hun Sen to hold bilateral talks with Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli to discuss cooperation and to seek aid for the development of Cambodia,” he said.
Kao Kim Hourn added that the expo also gave Hun Sen a chance to hold separate talks with other leaders from Asean countries, including Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, and Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Tanasak Patimapragorn.
