PHNOM PENH (Bernama) – Cambodia and Seychelles have signed six cooperation agreements in various sectors, Xinhua news agency reported.
The pacts on politics, trade, investment, tourism, agriculture and air services were signed Thursday during Seychelles Foreign Minister Jean-Paul Adam’s visit to Cambodia.
“These documents will serve as an important foundation to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation for the benefit of the two countries,” said Ouch Borith, Acting Minister of Cambodia’s Foreign Ministry.
Adam said the establishment of cooperation between Seychelles and Cambodia would provide opportunity to connect Southeast Asia and Africa.
“Seychelles sees Cambodia as a rising star in Southeast Asia. Cambodia has had a very difficult past but it has a bright future,” he said.
Seychelles is considering importing quality food products from Cambodia to meet demand of its tourism industry.
