TELEKOM Brunei Berhad (TelBru) has informed its customers in the Sinaut and Kupang areas of the Tutong District that there will be a planned cable cut-over commencing 10pm on October 11.
As a result, subscribers in Sinaut and Kupang – including the Prisons Department, Electrical Services Department, Sinaut and Birau Agricultural Stations, Sinaut Primary School, Sg Kelugus Clinic, Kg Sinaut Mosque, Rumah Al-Islah, Kg Kupang Mosque and Kg Luagan Duduk – will be affected.
Expected to last two hours, the work is intended to relieve the existing fibre optics cable connecting Tutong to Sinaut, Penanjong and Keriam. Upon completion, it will increase the capacity for Tutong-Sinaut link for additional service requirements.
Meanwhile, another cutover will also take place on the same date, October 11, and is expected to be completed within six hours. This is to allow for the relocation of the existing fibre optic cable due to the road-widening project near Meragang Sixth Form Centre, along the Berakas-Muara Highway. Services affected will be mainly TelBru’s transmission network as well as Progresif Cellular Sdn Bhd and DST base stations around the area.
TelBru apologised for any inconvenience caused.
