AROUND 130 people participated in a BSP Blood Donation Drive organised by Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd (BSP) yesterday at the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC), Seria in conjunction with Shell’s 85th year in Brunei.
The drive, led by the Assets Engineering and Projects (AEP) Department of BSP, was held in collaboration with the Blood Donation Centre of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.
‘Are you My Type’ was the theme of the drive referring to the different blood groups and also portraying giving blood as a positive and caring act of charity.
Participants were invited to bring along a “date” to the event – people who were either colleagues or loved ones of the donors – to encourage them to donate blood together.
Out of the donors, two were selected to win special prizes in the form of premium health screening packages at the Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) to commemorate Shell’s 85th anniversary and also celebrate the recent reorganisation of BSP’s AEP Department.
All blood donors will be given appreciation certificates signed by Ken Marnoch, the Managing Director of BSP, recognising their efforts.
