A PRESS conference for the 4th Brunei Track and Field Open Championships was recently held at the Meeting Room of the Tutong Sports Complex. The meeting was chaired by Awang Kifli bin Haji Jaafar, President of the Brunei Athletics Association (BAA).
The president, as the meeting’s chairperson, has confirmed that the competition will start on October 18 and 19 at the Tutong Sports Complex.
The competition will be split into junior and senior categories. In the senior category, a total of 36 events will be contested including 19 events for male and 17 events for female.
Meanwhile, 27 events will be featured in the junior category including 14 for male and 13 for female.
Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong have all expressed interest through their participation thus far.
Meanwhile according to Awang Kamil bin Lamat, Head of Youth and Sports Branch in the Tutong District, the press conference aimed to inform members of the public early who wishes to take part in the competition whereby registration will open until late night on Monday, October 6.
