A TWO-DAY Technical Committee Meeting on information and broadcasting cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Thailand came to a close with the signing of a letter of transmittal yesterday.
The 13th Technical Committee Meeting at Centrepoint Hotel in Gadong was part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the field of broadcasting and information between the two governments.
Haji Mohd Rozan bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, Permanent Secretary (Media and Cabinet) at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), and Dr Charoon Chaisorn, Deputy Director-General, Public Relations Department – as representative of the Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister, Thailand, signed the letter.
Hj Mohd Rozan highlighted that the meeting came to a productive conclusion, which called for greater cooperation in the field of information and broadcasting between the countries.
He also expressed his appreciation of the discussion and agreement on the broadcasting programmes which will be implemented by both countries.
Among these are the Joint Musical Variety Show, television and news exchanges, a new programme which involves training and exchanges of broadcasting personnel as well as programmes in the field of information such as the exchange of publications, pictorials and features.
The permanent secretary also hoped that the exchanges and views would increase awareness and sense of belonging to Brunei, Thailand and Asean as a whole.
Also present were Hj Idris bin Hj Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Media and Cabinet) at PMO, as well as officers from the PMO, Department of Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB) and Information Department.
