THE region’s strongest athletes are slated to test their power at the inaugural Brunei Strongest Man and Women Invitation 2014 competition, which will take place on December 14 at the Lapau building’s parking lot in the capital.
Among the participating athletes are local champions from previous competitions including Daus, Pg Vios and Dk Fatin.
According to main organiser, Harun bin Haji Ahmad, the founder of Harun’s Gym & Trufitness, the event brings together 20 of the strongest athletes from Singapore, the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak as well as Brunei to participate in categories such as the truck pull, giant tyre flip and farmers walk.
Winners will receive cash prizes amounting up to $1,500 for the top spot as well as trophies and consolation prizes. As a sideline event, a tug-of-war competition will also take place.
The title sponsor GHK Motors will also showcase its new models of cars in addition to providing visitors an opportunity to join in its activities.
Members of the public are invited to witness the show of might and determination and cheer for their favourite athletes.
