TO FIND out problems and issues faced by the villages in Zone 4 of Brunei-Muara District, a feedback session was held recently with Penghulus, village heads and members of village and Mukim consultative councils of the area.
The meeting was chaired by member of the Legislative Council and Village Head of Kampong Putat, YB Haji Jumat bin Akim. Also attending were Acting Brunei-Muara District Officer, Mohammad Sunadi bin Haji Buntar and his assistant, Haji Mislee bin Haji Karim.
Issues and problems discussed included infrastructure, poverty, unemployment, building homes for the poor as well as security.
YB Haji Jumat reminded the leaders not to raise sensitive issues which might affect the security, community harmony and offend any party whether they be individuals or authorities.
He said all the issues raised will be evaluated and assessed as thoroughly as possible before being raised in the Legislative Council this year.
For almost four years, Zone 4 brought up a variety of issues in the Legislative Council where some of the issues caught the attention of the relevant authorities. It shows that community in Zone 4 has good views and raised issued relevant towards the goodness of the community, mukim, district and the country, said the YB.
“We, as the subjects of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, must be thankful because our country has developed so much compared to 30 years ago.
“Therefore, it is only right for us to review what we achieved and think about what can be done this year so that there would be improvements. We should ensure 2015 keep the momentum of our country’s progress and bring about positive changes in all aspects of life.”
YB Haji Jumat then touched on several amendments in regulations allowing ease of doing business, mega projects and attracting foreign investment.
