ELEVEN golfers from the Brunei Ladies Golf Association (BLGA) left for Singapore yesterday to compete in the 6th Asian Ladies Invitational Interport Golf Tournament, hoping to amend last year’s disappointing result.
Facing tough competition, Datin Misnah Daud who is the captain of the team said: “We do want to win the championship and we also know that there are many good golfers from the region participating in the competition. We will try our best to improve our result this year as compared to last year.”
“We are also very proud to be able to represent BLGA for the competition. In addition to the competition, the event is also an occasion for lady golfers to meet old friends and make new ones,” she added.
The Brunei’s team attire to the competition was sponsored by Brunei T.C.Y. Motors, the main distributor of Audi in Brunei.
The annual event is being held from Oct 8-10 at the prestigious Tanah Merah Golf and Country Club, Singapore Island Country Club and Seletar Golf and Country club.
The tournament will see participation from Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia and Brunei. Brunei Darussalam hosted the event in 2011.
