BRUNEI Darussalam secured seventh spot in the 9th Asian Netball Championships after defeating Japan 44-37 in a play-off match at Singapore Sports Hub OCBC Arena.
The national side endured a difficult tournament following losses to Malaysia, Chinese Taipei, Sri Lanka and India.
Brunei’s second win of the tournament was a confidence booster ahead of next year’s SEA Games in Singapore.
Meanwhile, Singapore successfully retained their crown after beating Sri Lanka 59-41 in the final.
Malaysia secured third spot after beating Hong Kong 50-39.
Chinese Taipei’s scored a 66-44 victory over India for fifth place.
Myanmar and Vietnam finished ninth and 10th, respectively.
