BRUNEI Darussalam’s High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last night hosted a function to commemorate Brunei Darussalam’s 31st National Day at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
Present as the guest of honour was Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Minister of Communications and Multimedia of Malaysia. Also present as a special guest was Dato Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Malaysia, according a statement.
The event was attended by over 500 guests, including members of the diplomatic corp in Kuala Lumpur, prominent people, officials, business community and Bruneians residing in Malaysia.
Dato Paduka Haji Alaihuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Utama Haji Mohd Taha, the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Datuk Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek in their opening statements prayed to Allah the Almighty for the good health of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha and the success of the governments and prosperity of the people of both countries.
This was followed by a cake-cutting ceremony.
