BRUNEI Darussalam winless drought in sepak takraw continues after losing to India 2-0 (21-12, 21-15) in the Men’s Regu at the ongoing 17th Asian Games in Incheon.
It took only 38 minutes to end the challenge of the quartet of Nur Alimin Sunggoh, Md Hafizzuddin Jamaludin, Marzuki Munap and Ismail Ang.
The national team is still searching for a win in sepak takraw since starting their campaign in the men’s doubles format.
India are in pole position to reach the next round after registering bagel scores against both Brunei and Nepal but still have Malaysia and Korea in their sights next.
Meanwhile, Korea got their Men’s Regu campaign off to a winning start after defeating Malaysia 2-1.
Brunei will play Malaysia and Nepal next today (Sept 30) before concluding their preliminaries against Korea on Wednesday.
