THE first ever Brunei Futsal League 2015 kicked off last night at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex last night.
All 12 clubs were present to learn who will be chosen to play in the opening fixture of the newly inaugurated league.
Silverredz Futsal Team will be replacing MS PDB in the league, only two days after the release of the 12 confirmed teams.
The league is aimed at scouting talent for selection and raising the standards of the national team.
The guest of honour was Pehin Datu Inderasugara Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof bin Abu Bakar, Deputy President of National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD).
Rizfiz and Pegastar FT chalked up the first points as the opening fixture of BFL 2015, as they battled to a 4-4 draw.
Rizfiz looked to have had the match in the baf when they raced to a healthy lead.
Ak Md Jamil released Awg Zulhirni whose return pass was struck with such venom leaving the Pegastar’s goalkeeper no chance for the first goal.
Pegastar, however, were back on level terms awhile later following an uncharacteristic error from Rizfiz’s goalkeeper on the other end.
Md Jamil made it 2-1 after teammate Amalul Arif spotted him with a magnificent pass.
Rizfiz took advantage of Pegastar’s apparent loss of focus taking a free-kick early and after the keeper had initially saved a shot, Ahmad Alwee popped up to tap home a simple finish.
Abd Azim gave Pegastar a lifeline and his goal lifted his team. Rizfiz looked certain to collect all three points until Ak Md Hanis stepped up with a brace at the dying seconds.
