WITH the hope of attracting potential investors into Brunei’s broadcasting and digital media industry, the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) will host a Brunei pavilion at KL Converge, which will be held beginning today (September 17) until September 19, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The AITI delegation is comprised of representatives of Origin Films Sdn Bhd, Regal Blue Productions, Itsybytes Company, Ambuyart Animations and MegaBond Productions along with exhibitors. AITI has also invited supporting agencies within the industry to attend as trade visitors, such as the Brunei Economic Development Board, Kristal Media Sdn Bhd, Progressif Cellular Sdn Bhd, Institut Teknologi Brunei and Shazana’s Production House.
Acting Chief Executive of AITI, Awang Hj Jailani bin Hj Buntar, and senior officials were present at the Brunei International Airport to bid the delegation farewell.
Md Denny Azriman, the animator of Ambuyart Animations said prior to his departure, “KL Converge can be a golden opportunity for Ambuyart Animations to break into the regional market. I hope that through the exhibit, my projects will attract interest in collaboration with the regional broadcasting and digital media industry. It’s my dream to be able to break into the international market”.
KL Converge will showcase how the multiple facets of technology, services and applications have all become part of the digital world that is now a key driver in the lives of consumers as well as being responsible for economic development and a nation’s growth.
Asean member states will host pavilions with their own content buyers and businesses related to communications, multimedia, film, TV, music, networked applications, games and anything to do with the digital lifestyle. There will also be interactive sessions and dialogues, master classes and workshops open to all delegates. To further enhance the sensory experience there will be live demonstrations and displays of applications, games, films and TV shows.
Delegates will have a chance to visit Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios on September 20, as part of a trip organised by the Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional Malaysia (FINAS).
