PLANNING your dream wedding can be made easier with a visit to the two-day Brunei Bridal Exhibition 2014 (Pameran Pengantin Brunei 2014) at the Bahtera Hall of Badi’ah Hotel which will end today.
The exhibition among others showcases some glamorous wedding dresses for both grooms and brides-to-be, particularly those searching for exclusive, modern and unique designs for affordable prices.
There are more than 10 local entrepreneurs – who are professional, skilful, talented and experienced in the field of wedding and photography – involved, offering attractive discounts and promotions.
Hazrin Matani (or Reyn Hm), the owner and designer of Reyn’s Touch and Bridal Collection, is showcasing his enchanting wedding dresses that are in line with the latest trends and made from high-quality materials.
“I have been involved in the bridal industry for almost six years now and in Brunei it is improving with a lot more young entrepreneurs now interested in the field… Of course, there are many challenges that need to be faced,” he commented during an interview with the Borneo Bulletin.
He also stressed that a modern wedding dress, though in line with the latest trends, must also be acceptable and sensitive to the country’s culture.
Another well-known bridal boutique, D’Crystal Crown, is also showcasing stunning but affordable wedding dresses, offered through different packages in accordance with customers’ preferences.
D’Crystal Crown’s Abdul Hamid Aji who has been involved in the field since 2010, shared that they have received positive public response, which is highly encouraging and enables them to enhance their services even more.
“Alhamdulillah, throughout my four years in this field, though there have been many challenges that we faced, the most important thing is that we have to serve, really care for and entertain our customers… Of course it is hectic, yet we get the opportunity to widen our knowledge and exchange ideas that help us improve,” he said.
Apart from boutiques, the exhibition also showcases some creative and elegant wedding gift designs (Hantaran berian), such as from Amadah Textile and Tailoring, Simply Sayang and Ifdhaal Event Management.
Jeanifah Hj Md Yussof, the Manager and Designer of Amadah Textile and Tailoring, who has been in the field for over 10 years, told the Bulletin that she sees significant changes in the designs of wedding gifts.
“Such changes have been a challenge, where we need to be updated on the cur-rent trends and now, we also see a lot of talented designers… We have taken on the challenge and improved as well,” she said.
Hjh Florinda Hj Mejenis of Ifdhaal Event Management, shared that she has also received great response from the public and promotes her business with the assistance of social media.
The coverage of a grand wedding is a must and as such talented, skilled and experienced photographers are needed.
Therefore, the exhibition has also brought in photography companies, such as White Room Studio, Reality Production and Arts Photographer.
Shahiruddin Hassan, the senior photographer at White Room Studio, remarked, “The response from the public has been very encouraging and as one of the local photography companies, we must provide customers with good-quality photos, pro-ducts and services.”
The owner of Reality Production also highlighted that there are various challenges in the field of photography, one of which is competition with other companies.
