DURING the first China-Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Cyber Space Forum, which was launched by the Minister of Cyberspace Administration of the People’s Republic of China, Lu Wei, four main topics were discussed.
The topics were: Development of Internet Infrastructure and Narrowing the Digital Divide, Development of Internet Economy and International Cooperation, Cyber-Security and Internet Governance as well as the Application of ICT in Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
Brunei Darussalam was represented by Senior Manager of the Information Security Corporate Strategy Group, Hj Zailani bin Haji Abdul Malik.
The forum was held at the International Convention Centre’s conference hall in Liyuan Resort and was attended by representatives of Asean member states.
The event is among 13 forums and conferences being held during the 11th China-Asean Exposition and the 11th China-Asean Business & Investment Summit, and is being used as a platform for exchange and cooperation regarding the development of a 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road, which will focus on the development of Internet economy, security, governance and infrastructure as well as international cooperation.
The event also saw a signing ceremony for strategic cooperation agreements between Qihoo360 of China and Asiasoft of Thailand as well as Baidu of China and Indonesia’s Android Association.
