BRUNEI Methanol Company (BMC) Sdn Bhd held its 2nd Stakeholder Dialogue Session for this year with the community of Mukim Liang-Lumut yesterday.
Held at the Sungai Liang Industrial Park (SPARK) Mini Theatre, the dialogue session was organised as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Present at the event were the penghulus and village heads of Mukim Liang-Lumut, government and private company officials as well as community members.
The event started with a brief welcoming speech by the BMC Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Daud bin Hj Jais.
Over the course of the dialogue session, BMC representatives updated the community of Mukim Liang-Lumut with regards to BMC’s 2014 projects and activities. BMC also shared its current local employment status including the intake of attachment students and apprentices as well as business development statistics.
The session also saw a presentation delivered by the Corporate and Office Services Manager of BMC, Saifullilah Hj Ahmid, on BMC’s ongoing commitment and effort to fulfil its CSR programme.
BMC has been actively involved in community development events by enhancing and maintaining its close relationship with the community and contribution towards its CSR.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session and a tour around the BMC Methanol Plant. This session has been conducted biannually since BMC’s establishment in 2007.
