MORE than 50 people donated blood yesterday at the 15th Consumer Fair (CF15) held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas.
The blood donation was held on the stage of the Plenary Hall, where staff from the Mobile Blood Bank of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital were on hand to welcome the many visitors of CF15.
Two sessions were held, the first in the morning from 10am to 12pm and the second at 2pm until 4pm. Prior to making a blood donation, donors were given a health check by doctors from RIPAS Hospital to ensure that they were healthy and able to donate blood.
It was shared that the act of donating blood is a meaningful activity that can potentially save lives. Regular blood donations also help keep iron levels in the body in check, especially for men. Studies have shown that this helps to reduce the risk of heart disease as well.
Members from the RIPAS Hospital Mobile Blood Bank Unit and D’Sunlit Sdn Bhd thanked members of the public for their participation in the charitable cause.
Today is the last day of CF15. With more than 400 booths occupied by locals and international companies, there are many activities to entertain both the young and old. A free shuttle bus service will run from the Indoor Stadium car park area to the ICC from 10am to 10pm.
The CF15 is organised by D’Sunlit Sdn Bhd and is sanctioned by the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR).
