Bleeding for a good cause

POLITEKNIK Brunei (PB) yesterday held a blood donation drive at its main campus at Ong Sum Ping, with students, lecturers and staff of the higher education institution stepping forward to bleed for a good cause.

The main aim of the campaign is to instil among the PB family a sense of social responsibility towards the community through the simple act of saving lives by means of donating blood.

The campaign is aimed at helping hospitals in Brunei Darussalam increase their blood reserves.

Prior to the campaign, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre officials delivered a briefing to raise awareness on the great impact donors can make and the additional benefits of blood donation.

It is hoped that through the campaign, the institution’s students and staff will adopt blood donation as a life-long habit.
