THOUSANDS of delegates and visitors from the defence sector are gathering at the Jakarta International Expo (PRJ) Kemayoran in Jakarta, Indonesia, for the Indo Defence 2014 Expo & Forum.
The four-day event which commenced last Wednesday also sees the attendance of defence delegations from Brunei Darussalam, comprising high-ranking officials and key decision-makers from the Ministry of Defence (MinDef), Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and Royal Brunei Technical Services (RBTS).
Leading the MinDef entourage is Deputy Minister of Defence Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat. The event was also attended by Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Indonesia, Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Hj Mahmud Hj Saidin.
The RBAF representatives are being led by the Director of the Directorate of Force Capability Development (DFCD), Colonel (U) Shahril Anwar bin Ma’awiah, while the RBTS entourage is lead by its Chief Executive Officer, Hjh Rosmawati Hj Manaf.
As the leading acquisitions and systems management provider in Brunei, RBTS is promoting its capabilities and exploring new opportunities in various areas of collaboration to service both the government and private sector, such as in Explosive Storage Management and Disposal, as well as ‘green’ technologies.
RBTS will also seize the opportunity to promote the upcoming defence exhibition, BRIDEX 2015, with the aim of attracting potential exhibitors and defence industry stakeholders to the region’s premier defence exhibition.
RBTS has received an overwhelming response from international OEMs and service providers to collaborate with RBTS and participate at the BRIDEX 2015. This was apparent as the RBTS booth at the event saw an influx of over 50 international companies in just over the first three days of its participation.
RBTS’ presence at the event will also act as a platform to support the growth of the defence industry in the Sultanate.
