IN CONJUNCTION with the 31st National Day celebration of Brunei Darussalam, the Youth and Sports Department of Belait District recently launched the Phase II: Project Implementation of the 10th ‘Belia Cinta Tanah Air’ Programme (PBCTA).
The launching was held at the Mini Youth Centre hall of the Department of Youth and Sports in Kuala Belait.
The main objective of the event was to boost the morale and physical fitness and spiritual stability among the youth. It also aimed at encouraging spirit of friendship and fostering better relationships between the youth and their surrounding community.
The guest of honour was YB Awang Haji Mohd Yusof bin Haji Dulamin, the Village Head of Kg Mumong and a member of the Legislative Council.
During the event, the participating youth were seen creating their own work of arts to make the Youth Centre look more colourful with the walls painted with designs based on the colours of patriotism.
This yearly nationwide project is targeted at the members of youth organisations and charitable organisations and secondary students from government or private institutions who have not participated in any activities organised by the Department of Youth and Sports, and are locals or permanent residents from the Belait District aged between 15 and 25 years.
