SECONDARY schools in the Belait District held religious talks on January 17 in conjunction with Maulidur Rasul.
At Sayyidina Ali Secondary School, the Religious Department gathered teachers and students of Year 9 to Year 11 as well as the Pre-U2 classes and brought in a guest speaker, Ustaz Haji Amin bin Haji Mat Yassin from the Islamic Dakwah Centre, to speak about the Maulidur Rasul and to give insights to the students as he talked about the journey of ‘dakwah’ of the prophet.
Also present at the annual event were the Principal, Cikgu Hajah Murni binti Abdullah, and Deputy Principals, Cikgu Osman bin Rajap and Cikgu Hamry bin Sani.
St James’ School also organised a similar event for its students from Year 7 to Year 11 which was also attended by the school’s Principal, Haji Mohd Masa Masdi bin Mohd Sa’idun. A talk was delivered by Ustaz Ali Hassan bin Md Said, an Education Officer from the Islamic Dakwah Centre.
The talk themed “Mencintai Rasulullah” discussed the greatness of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and also highlighted the intellectuals from around the world who acknowledged the prophet due to various reasons such as French poet La Mortin who valued the prophet’s unparalleled honesty.
Both events were organised as an effort to help reinforce faith as well as to prompt students to perform their obligations to the religion of Islam.
