BRUNEI Darussalam AIDS Council (BDAC) through its youth wing, Penyinar Club, is organising an Instagram photo competition held in conjunction with the World AIDS Day 2014. Instagram is currently one of the most popular social media and is therefore the perfect place to spread awareness on HIV and AIDS especially among the youth.
According to a press release, among the objectives of the competition are to promote awareness on HIV/AIDS through the use of social media; to instil a sense of responsibility to spread the right and informative messages that benefits the community; and to encourage active learning through individual research on the subject matter.
The competition is open to the public and all entrants must follow BDAC’s Instagram account (@BDAIDScouncil). The contestants must set their Instagram accounts to public and multiple entries are allowed. The photos must show the red ribbon which is an international symbol of HIV/AIDS awareness. To qualify, the photos must be captioned with the hashtag #WorldAIDSDayBN and #BDAIDSCouncil. Also required in the caption is a HIV/AIDS message to raise awareness of the issue to the public.
The deadline for entries is December 20, Saturday, at 6pm. The complete rules and regulations are available at worldaidsdayBN.wordpress.com
The first prize of the competition is an Apple iPad Mini while the second prize is a tablet and the third prize is an external hard drive.
The top three winners of the competition will be announced in January 2015 and a prize presentation ceremony will be held in the same month.
