AROUND 25 vendors are participating in a two-day bazaar aimed at collecting funds for orphans residing at the Tutong waterfront. The funds come from the registration fees charged to participating vendors.
The bazaar began yesterday from 8am-9pm and today it will run from 8.30am-5.30pm. A variety of goods are available for purchase from local delicacies and beverages to clothes.
The bazaar was launched by the Chairman of the Tutong Municipal Board, Hj Ali bin Matyassin. Also present was a member of the Legislative Council, Yang Berhormat Orang kaya Maha Bijaya Awang Hj Othman bin Uking.
The municipal board also welcomes contributions from the public for the orphans, which can be made at the bazaar.
The bazaar is also aimed at providing a platform and opportunity to stimulate economic activities by the local community.
