ENDURANCE and strength was put to test as some of the region’s top CrossFit athletes competed on Day 1 of the Battle Royale 2014 yesterday. The competition was hosted by GetFit CrossFit at the Multipurpose Hall, Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
Some 80 athletes from Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Singapore, China and Indonesia, from over 10 CrossFit affiliates, are part of the two-day competition. The competition aims to provide a platform for local cross fitters, athletes and fitness enthusiasts throwing down for top honours.
Over the two-day competition, athletes participated in six work-out events finishing on the weekend, with a final multi-exercise workout for the top 10 men and women going head to head today.
The sport combines high-intensity, interval training, power lifting, gymnastics, kettlebell lifting, Olympic weightlifting, plyometric and other exercises.
