RENOWNED for its creativity and innovation in the Brunei market, Baiduri Bank once again lived up to its name, when it recently held a glittery “black tie” gala dinner for 500 guests to celebrate the bank’s 20 years of accomplishments.
Dr YAM Pengiran Muda Abdul Fattaah, Acting Chairman of Baiduri Bank, attended the event as the guest of honour together with other members of the royal family.
Held at The Empire Hotel & Country Club, guests were mesmerised by the unique multi-sensorial dining experience prepared by international Celebrity Chef Emmanuel Stroobant.
In his welcoming speech, Baiduri Bank CEO Pierre Imhof expressed his thanks to a long list of individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to the bank’s success.
He also paid tribute to 12 members of staff who have been with the bank since its first day of operations.
“It has been a journey full of excitement, challenges, rewards and satisfaction. Throughout our journey, we have been helping people in Brunei achieve their personal dreams; companies grow their businesses – contributing to the development of the country. We feel a great sense of pride and satisfaction to know that we have played a part in many of our customer’s success stories,” said Pierre Imhof.
The highlight of the evening was a four-course dinner prepared by Grand Chef Emmanuel Stroobant which comprised signature dishes from the menu at his award winning gourmet restaurant in Singapore, Saint Pierre.
With the theme of the evening being “It’s U at the Centre of Baiduri Bank”, the line-up of dishes was designed to make it a multi-sensory gastronomical experience with different chapters that tell the Baiduri Bank story.
Saint Pierre was awarded Wine and Dine magazine ‘Best New Restaurant’ in 2002, ‘Most Innovative Menu’ in 2002, 2004 and 2007 as well as World Gourmet Summit ‘Best New Restaurant’ 2002 and 2003, and ‘Restaurant of the Year’ 2007.
On January 1, 2008, Saint Pierre became the only restaurant in Singapore being accorded membership to the world renowned Relais & Châteaux, a collection of 500 of the world’s best restaurants and hotels.
Also present were cabinet ministers, prominent business and community leaders, and past and current members of the Board of Directors of Baiduri Bank.
