‘Back-to-school’ packages for 850 students

PETALING JAYA (Bernama) – About 850 students of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Bandar Sunway and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bandar Sunway yesterday received the special ‘back-to-school’ package worth a total of RM215,000 from The Sunway Group.

Each package contains school uniform, school bag, water bottle and track bottom for sporting activities to start them off on the right track for the new school year.

Sunway Group Assistant General Manager (Corporate Social Responsibility, Internal Branding and Events) Bernard Paul said the initiative would ease the financial worries of their parents and families.

“Our relationship with SMK Bandar Sunway first began in 1995, and since then we have worked hand-in-hand with both schools for the upkeep of the school grounds.

“Our corporate sustainability efforts are all part of our commitment to #SunwayForGood, which is our pledge that Sunway will continue to do good, and stand alongside Malaysians, for good,” he said in his speech during the Sunway Group’s ‘Back To School’ Programme at SMK Bandar Sunway hall yesterday.
