THE Director for Administration at the State Mufti’s Office, Dato Paduka Ahmad Bukhari bin Pehin Siraja Khatib recived an award in the Regional Premier Publishing category at the Malaysian National Book Award ceremony which was held on December 10 at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
He was attending the ceremony as the representative of State Mufti, Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Hj Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, along with officials from the State Mufti’s Office.
The Brunei delegation had presented four books: ‘The Syariah Penal Code: An Introduction’ (English and Bahasa Melayu), ‘State Mufti Fatwa 2012’, and’ Syariah Criminal Penal Code’ (Neraca Allah), a work of poetry.
Dato Paduka Ahmad Bukhari said it was a ‘proud moment for Brunei’ as it was generally agreed that the four nominated books were of high quality and that they won praises and admiration. This speaks volumes of the efforts made by the authors in writing these books.
Organised by Malaysia’s Book Development Foundation, the award is significant as it recognises, appreciates and gives tremendous encouragement to authors to produce quality works with invaluable content.
