ROYAL Brunei Catering (RBC) has rolled out its Malaysia Food Festival 2014 at Dynasty Restaurant at the Centrepoint Hotel, which is set to run until November 11.
The festival, a collaboration between RBC and Tourism Malaysia as part of the ongoing Visit Malaysia Year 2014, gives diners the opportunity to enjoy authentic Malaysian cuisine either during lunch time or for dinner.
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof officiated the launch of the Malaysia Food Festival 2014.
Also in attendance were High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam Datuk Awang Sahak bin Awang Salleh, RBC General Manager Haji Omar Ali bin Haji Mohd Daud, members of the board of directors of RBC, representatives from various partners – including Baiduri Bank, Tourism Malaysia and Royal Brunei Airlines, and invited guests.
Tourism Malaysia Director (Brunei) Cik Zurina Abd Samad expressed excitement in partnering up with RBC for this promotion, saying, “The year 2015 has been declared as the Year of Festivals. This is a continuation of Visit Malaysia Year 2014 and is intended to give visitors a magical holiday experience with special emphasis on the various festivals celebrated by Malaysia’s multiracial society.”
The food festival will offer diners a true taste of Malaysian cuisine prepared by Malaysian celebrity chef Kamarul and his team, flown in from Penang for the occasion, she explained.
Chef Kamarul is popular for his ‘Baba’s Cubits’ programme on TV3, with each episode averaging one million viewers. He will also hold food demonstrations, while Malaysia’s ‘Raja Teh Tarik,’ Minor Sazali and Mr Oly, the talented caricaturist, will also be featured at the festival.
RBC line-up of tantalizing dishes will include its Rendang Tok Perak, Kurma Ayam Johor, Penang Char Kway Teow, Hokkien Mee throughout the two-week event. The menu will alternate in a four-rotation cycle.
During this period, dine-in customers will automatically be entered into to a lucky draw when they fill in their contact details on the receipt. Diners stand to take home attractive prizes such as air tickets to Kuala Lumpur and $200 RBC vouchers.
RBC has also created an ‘Instagram Lucky Draw Contest’ whereby 20 lucky individuals will win RBC vouchers simply by following the official Instagram account @royalbruneicatering. The three-day contest ends today.
Additionally, Baiduri Bank Infinite and Platinum card holders will enjoy a 20 per cent discount during this promotional period, while a 15 per cent discount will be available for Gold, Classic and Debit Card holders.
