THE Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony yesterday to mark the completion of the recitation of 30 Juzuk of the Al-Quran. The ceremony was also a continuation of the completion of the Tedarus programme initiated by some officers and staff members of the AGC.
More than 30 officers and staff members participated in the ceremony at the Law and Courts Building in Jalan Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha.
Attorney General Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Hayati binti Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Salleh concluded the ceremony with the sprinkling of scented flowers (Bunga Rampai).
The Khatam Al-Quran, Tahlil, Dikir and Doa were led by Imam Hj Hassan, Imam of Kampong Katimahar Mosque.
The aim of the programme was to encourage daily recitation of the Al-Quran, which is incumbent upon Muslims.
Officers and staff members benefit from the programme as it motivates them to increase their knowledge of the teachings in the Al-Quran.
It also helps foster better relations among the officers and staff members.
This Tedarus programme is hoped to be an activity that will be organised annually.
