THE Academy of Brunei Studies (APB) under Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) yesterday held its first-ever meeting with the institution’s stakeholders that took place on campus along the Tungku Highway.
Apart from fostering closer relations between academic staff and those who are considered as partners in the development of the academy, the gathering also paved way for the academic staff to further improve their services through constructive feedback particularly with regard to staff recruiting criteria.
“This is needed to ensure that the academy can make early preparations to meet such criteria designated for each department,” explained APB in a statement.
Other topics discussed include securing temporary placements for APB students undergoing their Discovery Year as well as APB’s role in the field of research related to the country’s development.
The meeting, which was chaired by APB Deputy Director Mohammad Shahrol Amira bin Abdullah, was attended by officials from both government as well as private sectors whose contributions during the meeting are hoped to facilitate aspirations of those concerned.
