SOME 20 athletes and coaches from Brunei Darussalam Petanque Federation attended an Anti-doping Education Talk organised by the Brunei Darussalam Anti-Doping Committee (BDADC) Education and Outreach Team.
Held at the Lecture Theatre Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, the talk was delivered by the Head of Education and Outreach Sukardi bin Kaderi.
The talk was aimed at educating the athletes and coaches on doping and anti-doping rules, doping control process, therapeutic use exemptions, athlete’s whereabouts, consequences and dangers of doping. The speaker also highlighted the dangers and risks of taking supplements.
At the end of the session, the athletes and coaches signed the Anti-Doping Pledge and were given the Anti-Doping Reference Guide and Prohibited List Reference.
According to a statement, BDADC will continue its efforts to educate the athletes as well as sports enthusiasts in Brunei Darussalam on anti-doping.
