THE Department of Labour, through its Survey and Statistics Division, said the annual census of employers and employees on wages, rate of earning and working hours for 2014 is now due for submission.
All completed forms must be returned with the necessary documents to the division or any of the department’s district branches by December 1.
Incomplete forms will not be accepted.
The annual census of employers and employees under Section 3 (1) of the Employment Information Act 1974, Chapter 99 requires employers to submit the particulars of their employees to the Labour Department.
This includes employers who have local workers.
However, those employing domestic helpers or amah are exempted.
Companies that have ceased operations are required to complete BUR700B forms by the deadline.
Forms are available during office hours at the Survey and Statistics Division, lobby area, ground floor at counters 7 and 8 of the Labour Department at Jln Dewan Majlis.
The counters are open from Monday to Thursday and Saturday from 8am-11.30am and from 1.45pm-3.30pm.
Forms can also be collected at the Labour Department district branches (except Tutong).
Under Section 8 of the Employment Information Act 1974, Chapter 99, employers who fail to adhere to the rules face a fine of $2,500 and six months’ jail.
Should there be a subsequent offence, there would be a fine of $50 a day.
