HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented for the Miscellaneous Licences Act (Amendment) 2015 to be enforced effective January 1, 2015.
According to a press release by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the amendment is aimed at creating a more pro-business and customer-friendly environment.
From January 1, 2015, Business Licences under the Miscellaneous Licences Act (Amendment), 2015 will replace the existing Miscellaneous Licences and other licences issued by the Municipal Board.
Licences issued before January 1, 2015 will remain valid until its expiry date.
The Business Licence will be issued by a licensing authority. It will be issued once the Companies Establishment Certificate and Registration Certificate Term 16/17 has been issued to allow vendors to start their business in accordance to the stipulated regulations and guidelines.
