A private preview was held recently to promote the play to members of the public.
‘Amas’ is a story of a 115-year-old lady who dreamt of her past which takes the audience back to her childhood in Kampong Ayer, when exciting and challenging developments were afoot in Brunei.
The story is set against the background of life in the water village and her relationships with her parents and friends. Amas recalls the time when she was a mischievous 10-year-old, during the beginning of a new system of formal education, and also when she was 20, training to be an assistant teacher, during the time of the discovery of oil which promised prosperity for all.
SEEDS performed its first ever production, ‘Oliver! The Musical’, in March 21, 2010, at Meragang Sixth Form Centre to a crowd of over 200 guests. Other plays include ‘Into the Woods’, ‘Willy Wonka’, ‘The Wicked Witch’ and ‘Pride’. It aims to conduct worthwhile activities for students during their school holidays.
The plays were supported by the Department of Schools, Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
