THE Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) this week engaged IDA International Pte Ltd to develop a National Information and Communications Technology (ICT) White Paper for Brunei Darussalam.
According to a press release, the agreement was signed by Haji Yahkup bin Haji Menudin, Chief Executive Officer of AITI and Vincent Wong, CEO of IDA International. It was witnessed by Haji Osman bin Hj Ladis, Acting Deputy Chief Executive of AITI and Yeong Wee Tan, Director of IDA International.
Under the framework of the existing AITI-IDA Memorandum of Understanding, AITI and IDA International are collaborating to develop Brunei Darussalam’s National ICT White Paper to support Brunei’s Vision 2035 to become a nation renowned for its well-educated and highly-skilled people with a dynamic and sustainable economy. ICT is identified as one of the strategic goals towards achieving this vision. AITI, as Brunei Darussalam’s local ICT industry promoter and developer, seeks to accelerate the development of Brunei’s ICT sector.
Haji Yahkup bin Haji Menudin observed that the National ICT White Paper will provide a strong foundation for Brunei towards its long term ICT vision. “This project seeks to further strengthen existing ICT programmes to understand the current progress and dependencies, work with key stakeholders to identify key performance indicators, recommend strategies and prioritise programmes to meet the strategic goals identified by Vision 2035 “ he added.
