AN ACCOMPLICE was added yesterday to the case of a 34-year-old local man who is facing a charge of theft before the Bandar Magistrate’s Court last Saturday.
Both defendants pleaded guilty and received a sentence of four months imprisonment.
Mohammad Yusra bin Laidin and 29-year-old Haji Aziman bin Hj Tarsat stole two airconditioners from Little Star School at Kg Tungku during the early hours of October 5.
Deputy Public Prosecutor, Aiman Zakaria, stated that Mohammad Yusra is unemployed and that Haji Aziman is employed as a uniformed personnel.
Senior Magistrate, Pg Masni Pg Bahar, further heard from the prosecution that the duo were seen in their vehicle parked at the rear of the school by security guards that day.
The security guards who were on patrol drove their vehicle nearer to the defendants’ and asked them what they were doing.
They responded that they were taking broken air conditioners.
The defendants had the two air conditioners from the school loaded onto their vehicle, which they then placed back in the garage where they had initially obtained them.
Despite returning the air conditioners, the defendants did not ask permission to enter the premises and neither did they ask or receive permission to take them in the first place.
