DATIN Seri Paduka Hajah Hayati binti Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Salleh, Attorney General of Brunei Darussalam and five other officers from the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) were in Singapore to attend a two-day Sentencing Conference 2014 (October 9 and 10) hosted by the States Court and Singapore Academy of Law.
The conference, themed “Trends, Tools and Technology”, was officiated by The Honourable Chief Justice of Singapore, Sundaresh Menon.
The aim of the conference was to examine the latest sentencing trends as well as developments in sentencing tools and technology. Participants heard from an international panel of speakers, who shared the latest developments in their jurisdictions with a focus on a multi-disciplinary approach to sentencing.
A day before the conference, the Attorney General of Brunei Darussalam and her delegation made a courtesy call to the Chief Justice of Singapore at his office at the Supreme Court in Singapore.
This was followed by a courtesy call to the new Attorney General of Singapore, V K Rajah SC.
Following the courtesy call, a working visit was made to AGC Singapore, who presented their latest work solution initiative to streamline their work management process. This was then followed by a tour of AGC Singapore’s new office at 1 Pickering Street.
The purpose of the working visit and the courtesy calls was to further strengthen the excellent rapport between AGC Brunei and AGC Singapore.
