THE iCentre kicked off its first ever ‘iAccelerate’ ideation workshop yesterday, helping potential start-ups entering the iCentre’s incubation programme embark on the next step of their entrepreneurship journey.
iAccelerate is an intensive series of workshops that have been strategically tailored for existing and incoming start-ups.
The iCentre, with the support of the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB), has identified 11 potential start-ups, comprising last year’s IGNITE Entrepreneurship Challenge winners and selected participants that have been approved by an evaluation committee.
Yesterday’s workshop was conducted by Keith Tan from the Creative Nexus Group, which is a multidisciplinary consultancy firm that embraces an integrated and holistic philosophy of infusing creativity, entrepreneurship and lifelong learning as a strategy for business success.
As iCentre Manager Jeremy Chua said, “The iAccelerate series of workshops was introduced to equip start-ups with important skill sets and knowledge to facilitate and accelerate the development of their ideas and businesses.”
He highlighted that the start-ups participating in these workshops are at different levels of their entrepreneurship journey and through the completion of these workshops, the start-up companies will be able proceed with their businesses effectively with confidence and clarity.
Being covered under the workshops are the areas of ideation, finance, project management, marketing, pitching and legal.
Jeremy also said that, in addition to the workshops, “We are actively encouraging these start-ups to interact with one another with the possibility of project collaborations leveraging on each other’s strengths.
“Some participants from last year’s IGNITE have already partnered up with one another to create new business ventures,” he added.
