NINE foreign women were detained for further investigation by the Anti-Vice and Gambling Suppression Unit under the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) after two simultaneous raids on two locations allegedly operating prostitution activities. The raid was carried out after midnight on December 27.
Five women were detained in the first raid on two blocks of a guest house in Kampong Manggis, which was allegedly used for prostitution activities. Meanwhile, another four women were nabbed after another raid at a hotel in the capital which also allegedly ran prostitution activities. If found guilty, the offenders will be charged under Section 294 (A), Chapter 22 of the Criminal Penal Code.
