A BRUNEIAN man was sentenced to a hefty jail term of 68 months and four strokes of the cane for charges of housebreaking and trespass while his co-defendant is claiming trial.
Intermediate Court Judge, Pg Hjh Hanani Pg Hj Metussain, sentenced Ampuan Abdul Wali Al-Wali bin Ampuan Abdul Rahman for breaking into a house at Kg Salambigar during the early hours between March 14 and 15.
The defendant also trespassed into a house at Kg Jerudong between 10.15am and 3.50pm on March 30, 2014.
On another count, the defendant broke into a house on the night of April 11, 2014, at Kg Salambigar.
He also trespassed into a house at Kg Pintu Malim on April 22, 2014.
His co-defendent, Johari bin Haji Jaya, faces three counts of housebreaking and trespass in which Deputy Public Prosecutor Kamaliah will bring in witnesses for a trial fixed for early 2015.
